Shanghai Disneyland theme park re-opens to visitors

Following a three-month hiatus, more than a thousand guests flocked to the Shanghai Disney Resort theme park on Thursday as face masks and social isolation were the rule of the day.

As instances increased in the Chinese commercial district, the park was closed on March 21. This prompted a two-month citywide lockdown that ended on June 1. The resort started reopening several parts little over a week later, with the theme park being the last to do so.

Zhang Yudong, a 19-year-old student donning a Mickey Mouse wizard hat and T-shirt for the occasion, was one of the first people to arrive on Thursday.

“It truly has the effect of being at home. I was very happy “Zhang, who has an annual pass to Disneyland, remarked. “I had been anticipating the day. Every day, I would wonder, “When will it reopen?””

The park had implemented COVID-19 regulations before it was shut down in March, including the use of face masks and routine sanitation.

Following the re-opening, in accordance with regulations for public spaces in Shanghai and other cities, visitors will need to provide documentation of a COVID test that was negative within the previous 72 hours.

The theme park has also stated that it will restrict the number of visitors, but it has not provided any other information. It has also stated that several attractions, such Marvel Universe, will remain closed.
