Over 400 migrants cross the Channel in a day

On Monday, 15 boats carrying more than 440 migrants crossed the English Channel, according to the Ministry of Defense.

More than 13,700 migrants have left France so far this year, bringing the total to over that figure.

442 individuals were taken in by UK officials, and after a second tiny boat, carrying nine passengers, ran into trouble, it was intercepted by French authorities.

Up from 8,404 in 2020, 28,526 persons are recorded to have traveled over in tiny boats last year.

One of the world’s busiest and most hazardous shipping waterways is the English Channel.

Many migrants come from some of the world’s most impoverished and turbulent regions, and after they are apprehended by UK authorities, many of them beg to claim asylum.

The administration stated in April that it intended to transport some asylum seekers to Rwanda so they could apply for refuge there.

Following judicial decisions, the first flight was canceled just before takeoff.

Campaigners opposed to the idea claim that a September court hearing that was originally set for this month has been postponed.
