King Charles wrote special message in a card atop Queen’s coffin

A heartfelt tribute from King Charles III, the future monarch of Britain, to his mother was written on a card that was placed on top of the Queen’s coffin. The following was written on the card that was placed on top of the casket of the Queen, along with flowers: “To be remembered with affection and devotion. The initials CR”

The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II was held at Westminster Abbey on Monday, and after it was over, the United Kingdom observed a moment of silence in her honour that lasted for two minutes. As the casket of the Queen was carried into Westminster Abbey, King Charles III, along with his sons Prince William and Prince Harry, walked behind the casket. Ahead of the funeral, King Charles III expressed gratitude to the people of Britain and the rest of the globe, saying that he and his wife Camilla, who also holds the title of Queen Consort, have been “touched beyond measure” by the number of people who came to pay their respects to the Queen.
