Amazon plans mid-October sale in 15 countries

An event similar to Amazon.com’s Prime Day summer marketing campaign, which tries to boost holiday revenue and appeal to price-conscious purchasers suffering economic instability, was announced by Amazon.com Inc. on Sunday as a discount that is expected to be offered to the company’s loyalty-club customers.

Amazon has announced that their “Prime Early Access Sale” will begin on October 11 at midnight Pacific Daylight Time (0700 GMT) and will run for 48 hours across 15 countries.

A second Amazon Deals event will take place this year, according to Vice President Jamil Ghani, who explained to the media that the decision was made due to early holiday buying and the “macroeconomic situation” that buyers faced.

During the course of an interview, he stated that “there is a drive to save and make the dollar stretch even further.”

Ghani did not provide any revenue predictions for the event and declined to compare it to the sales that took place over Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the fall or to Prime Day in July.

These member-only offers encourage some shoppers to sign up for Amazon Prime and do more of their shopping on the platform.
