More ad-free music, podcasts for Amazon Prime members

E-commerce behemoth Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) announced on Tuesday that it will provide its Prime members with more access to music and podcasts that are commercial-free.

According to a blog post published by Amazon, Prime members will now have access to over 100 million ad-free songs, in addition to the top podcasts. Previously, Prime members had the ability to listen to approximately 2 million songs without hearing any commercials.

This move comes at a time when retailers are working to package entertainment services like streaming with their main apps in an effort to enhance the number of subscription options available to customers.

Over 200 million people around the world are subscribers to the fast-shipping and media streaming service offered by Amazon called Prime.
