Christmas carols were once again sung on the grounds of Australian Army Headquarters, Forces Command, at Victoria Barracks, Sydney, for the first time since the COVID-19 epidemic.
To express its gratitude to the neighborhood for its support, Headquarters Forces Command provided 700 complimentary tickets for Carols at the Barracks.
The Australian Army Band – Sydney and the Scots College Pipes and Drums band gave performances during the event on December 3.
It was a great day, according to frequent visitor and local resident Vicky Skarlatos.
“When I learned that the carols were playing again, I was really happy. Because I anticipated they would sell out soon, my husband snatched up the tickets, according to Mrs. Skarlatos.
Alexander Collins, a first-time visitor, took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a picnic outside in the warm weather and expressed his appreciation for the event’s focus on families.
Mr. Collins remarked, “We simply came up for a long weekend with my dad, and it’s wonderful for the kids.
“Over the years, I have visited the barracks frequently, but I have never attended the carols. Kids adore it. It’s a beautiful day for dancing outside in the sun.
The kids really loved Santa Claus’ visit, which was made in a military police car.
Brigadier Malcolm Wells, the Chief of Staff of Headquarters Forces Command, thanked the neighborhood for coming.
We’ve been a part of the Paddington community since the 1840s, and Brigadier Wells said it was lovely to be able to open the gates and celebrate Christmas with our neighbors.
In addition to the Victoria Barracks military museum and an information booth from the 248 Army Cadet Unit City of Sydney (Gadigal), Carols at the Barracks also acted as a fundraiser for Legacy, which Brigadier Wells acknowledged.
He said, “I would also like to thank our charitable partners.
Legacy was created as a result of a soldier’s commitment made while dying in his comrade’s arms: “Look after the wife and kids.
I appreciate everything Legacy does to keep up with the commitment it made and accepted so long ago.
