The French automaker Renault is collaborating with the software provider Atos, the two businesses said on Tuesday, to gather and analyze data as part of a “strategic cooperation” to assist industry participants in cutting costs.
In order to enhance operational excellence and product quality, Renault and Atos claimed that their data alliance will enable manufacturers to gather and organize industrial equipment data at scale.
“We will further the commercialization of our knowledge through our partnership with Atos as we assist businesses in the industrial sector with the expansion of their digital transformation. This is a new development in the Renault Group’s capabilities for digital transformation and innovation “said Jose-Vicente de los Mozos, Renault Group’s EVP Group Industry.
By linking nearly 22,000 pieces of equipment, Renault said it could save an additional 80 million euros ($80,5 million) annually and connect the remaining 35 of its factories by 2023, which would result in annual savings of 200 million euros ($211.5 million).
