The global survey revealed on Thursday that Australia is the drunkest country in the world with having most booze-loving people.
The survey, named as the Global Drug Survey 2021, was based on responses from at least 32,000 people from as many as 22 countries from the world.
The findings of the survey revealed that on an average Australians got drunk 27 times in 2020, which is almost double then the global average of 15. On an average, Australians drink alcohol two days per week, the survey further added.
The survey findings further revealed that the trans, non-binary or intersex citizens were drinking more than the countries average with an average of 35 times a year.
It was also revealed that men were drinking 30 times in a year in Australia against that of women getting drunk 21 times.
The survey also said that Denmark and Sweden are following Australia in this race, with the average person getting drunk about 23.8 times in a year.
Australian researchers said that nations including British and Northern American are also reporting higher cases of drinking.
Though the country is the drunkest in the world, its citizens also regret drinking most of the time. It was revealed that Australians regretted 24% of the occasions after getting drunk while the women were among the category of regretting the most.
The global survey also said that France has been ranked at the top most country in consuming number of drinks in a year with People drinking 132 glasses of alcohol every year. The average number of drinks consumed in a year in New Zealand was 122 while the average was 106 drinks per year in Australia.
