Thor Love and Thunder set to cross $700 million globally

Thor Love and Thunder, the newest superhero movie from Marvel, has achieved some significant box office milestones both in India and internationally. The Chris Hemsworth-starring movie is now the fifth Marvel movie to gross over 100 crore in India. It is on track to surpass $700 million globally and surpass Thor Ragnarok as the highest-grossing Thor movie ever.

Thor Love and Thunder, which was produced by Marvel Studios, has surpassed Rs100 crore this year, becoming the second Hollywood movie to do so after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both movies. The Avengers Infinity War, Avengers Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home are other Marvel movies that have made more than 100 crore in India.

The movie’s outstanding performance has continued in the West as well. The fourth Thor movie reportedly made $7.6 million in its fifth weekend in North America, bringing its 31-day total there to $316.1 million, according to a Forbes article. This period’s global earnings total $698.9 million, and according to estimates, they will likely surpass $700 million on Tuesday.

The most profitable Thor movie to date, Thor Ragnarok has made $854 million worldwide. When adjusted, Ragnaork’s earnings were $712 million; Love and Thunder is anticipated to surpass that figure in a week. However, unlike its predecessor, Love and Thunder did not release in Russia and China. Considering the limits of the pandemic, trade analysts say the film is a huge success even though the entire figure may still be out of its reach.

Thor Love and Thunder, which was directed by Taika Waititi, hit theaters on July 7 in India and on July 8 worldwide. Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale, who makes his MCU debut as the movie’s antagonist, also appear in the Phase 4 MCU movie.
