These cabinet and team members will play significant roles in carrying out the president-elect’s policies in his second term. Trump’s win marks a historic comeback, overcoming assassination threats, legal challenges, and a new political opponent. Soon, he will take the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol as the 47th president of the United States.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy were chosen to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as cabinet members. Trump stated that Musk and Ramaswamy will advise the White House from outside the government, partnering with the Office of Management and Budget to drive major reforms and create a new entrepreneurial approach to governance. “These two patriots will dismantle government bureaucracy, cut unnecessary regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and overhaul federal agencies, which is crucial for the ‘save America’ movement,” Trump added.
John Ratcliffe has been selected as the new CIA director. Formerly the director of National Intelligence, Ratcliffe is known for his efforts to expose the FBI’s misuse of civil liberties at the FISA Court and the Clinton campaign’s role in alleged Russian collusion. “John Ratcliffe has consistently championed truth for the American people,” Trump said.
William McGinley will return as White House Counsel. Trump praised McGinley for his contributions as the RNC’s election integrity counsel, saying he’s a “smart and tenacious lawyer” who will defend the America First agenda and resist any misuse of law enforcement.
Mike Huckabee has been appointed as U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Trump commended the former Arkansas governor’s dedication to public service and his strong relationship with Israel, expressing confidence that Huckabee will work for peace in the Middle East.
Pete Hegseth has been nominated as Secretary of Defense. A veteran and Fox News personality, Hegseth has been a vocal advocate for American troops. Trump described him as “tough, smart, and committed to America First,” promising that under Hegseth’s leadership, the military will regain its strength.
Susie Wiles is set to become White House Chief of Staff. Trump credited Wiles, his campaign manager, for securing his historic victory and noted her key role in his previous campaigns.
Tom Homan has been appointed Border Czar. Formerly the director of ICE, Homan will be responsible for deporting illegal immigrants to their home countries. “There’s no one better for the job,” Trump stated.
Elise Stefanik has been nominated as U.N. Ambassador. Trump lauded Stefanik as a tough and smart leader committed to the America First agenda.
Lee Zeldin will serve as EPA Administrator. The former New York congressman aims to enforce fair deregulation while upholding the highest environmental standards, according to Trump.
Marco Rubio has been nominated for Secretary of State, making him the first Latino to potentially hold this position.
Mike Waltz is expected to become National Security Adviser. Known for his criticism of China’s influence in the Asia-Pacific, Waltz is a National Guard colonel and loyal Trump supporter.
Kristi Noem has been selected as Secretary of Homeland Security. Trump highlighted her commitment to border security, noting her role in deploying National Guard troops to assist Texas in managing border issues. She will work closely with Homan to ensure national security.
