Snap plans new Snapchat+ feature with subscription

A Snap spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday that Snap Inc (SNAP.N), the parent company of picture messaging app Snapchat, is developing a new subscription service dubbed Snapchat+ that would allow customers access to exclusive and pre-release features.

The subscription option, which Snap claims is being evaluated internally, was initially discovered on Twitter by a person called Alessandro Paluzzi, who describes himself as a mobile developer and reserve engineer.

According to screenshots Paluzzi provided on Twitter, Snapchat+ would cost 4.59 euros for a one-month membership and 45.99 euros for a year.

It would be Snapchat’s first subscription service, allowing users to submit content stories, play games, and scroll through a TikTok-style feature called Spotlight.
