Meta, previously Facebook, has begun sending out notifications to users about a privacy policy modification that will go into effect on July 26, the company announced on Thursday.
In a blog post, Meta stated that it has changed and redesigned its privacy policy to make it easier to comprehend and more transparent about how it utilizes users’ data.
“People will begin seeing notifications on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger today that will link them to information about what to anticipate from their region’s appropriate privacy policy and terms of service. They’ll also see a list of the differences. These changes will take effect on July 26th, and users are not required to respond to this notice by that date in order to continue using our goods “Meta remarked.
Meta’s “Terms of Service” are also being updated to clarify what is expected of it and people who utilize its services.
“Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and other Meta products are all covered by the new Meta Privacy Policy. It excludes WhatsApp, Workplace, Free Basics, Messenger Kids, and Quest devices without a Facebook account, all of which have their own privacy policies “Meta remarked.
