Amid the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran, Tehran has claimed that American forces suffered as many as 3,200 casualties within the first week of fighting, a figure that sharply contradicts official data released by Washington and independent reports.
The claim, attributed to Iranian officials and state-linked media, suggests that hundreds of US troops were killed and thousands more injured in the early days of the war. Some reports from Iran have even alleged that over 200 American personnel were killed and more than 3,000 wounded during the initial phase of the conflict, portraying the damage to US forces as extensive and severe.
However, US authorities have firmly rejected these assertions, describing them as exaggerated or outright misinformation. According to official figures from the US military, the number of American casualties remains significantly lower. Recent data indicates that around 13 US service members have died since the conflict began, while over 200 troops have been injured, most of them with minor wounds.
Reports suggest that a large proportion of the injured soldiers have already returned to duty, indicating that the severity of injuries in many cases was limited.
