Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s son, Xavier, has debuted his R&B career, sharing a promotional video on Instagram.
The 17-year-old, dressed in a hoodie, is seen strolling the streets of Ottawa in the video. The song, titled “Til The Night’s Done,” is set to release on February 21.
“We could roll sum / we could light one,” Xavier is heard singing in the clip.
The promotional video sparked mixed reactions among viewers. One Instagram user commented, “Congrats for making a song, hope you blow up,” while another jokingly wrote, “Just put the fries in the bag, bro.” A supportive fan added, “Good stuff Xav.”
Last year, on Xavier’s birthday, Justin Trudeau posted a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Today this little guy turns 17 (and is much taller than me)… Where did the time go? Watching Xav grow into such a brilliant, sensitive young man has been one of my greatest joys.”
Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau announced their separation in 2023, ending their 18-year marriage. Married in May 2005, the couple shares three children: Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 14, and Hadrien, 9. Despite their separation, the prime minister’s office emphasized that the family remains close, focused on raising their children in a supportive and loving environment.
“I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide competitive process,” Trudeau said, as reported by media. “This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and if I’m fighting internal battles, I cannot be the best option.”
He expressed confidence in the Liberal Party’s future, adding, “A new Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party will carry its values into the next election. I look forward to seeing this process unfold in the coming months.”
