After evacuating the international terminal late on Friday in response to a bomb threat, San Francisco International Airport announced it has restored regular operations.
The suspicious package that was left unattended was discovered by airport staff.

“Officers from @flySFO received a bomb threat tonight. Unusual package was discovered by Offs. International Terminal evacuated; EOD Unit looking into. Expect delays as this may affect existing airport operations,” a public information officer for the San Francisco Police Department warned in a tweet on Friday.
“The International Terminal is now free of police. SFO resumes regular business, “the airport stated on Saturday in a tweet.
After San Francisco police reported that they had received a bomb threat at the airport and discovered a suspicious item while conducting an investigation, the airport terminal was evacuated. The event also caused the closure of the SFO BART station. The transit company first announced the station shutdown on social media at 8:42 p.m.
There was a bomb threat and a video of a long wait outside the terminal was posted on Twitter by a user. Calls to KTVU revealed that instructions were broadcast over the airport’s P.A. system for the evacuation of the terminal.
The airport said that AirTrain service had been restored and that Bay Area Rapid Transit trains would begin service at 6:25 AM local time.
The police reportedly detained a man after the probe, according to the media.
