A source from Whitehall stated on Tuesday that the United Kingdom has not invited officials from Russia, Belarus, or Myanmar to attend the state burial of Queen Elizabeth, which is scheduled to take place on the following Monday.
In retaliation for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, together with its Western partners, has endeavored, through the imposition of economic sanctions and other measures, to marginalize Russia and its ally Belarus on the international scene.
Sanctions have been placed on Myanmar and its military by the United Kingdom as part of London’s efforts to bolster its support for the Rohingya people in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar.
According to the media, invitations have been extended to the heads of state in the majority of countries with whom the United Kingdom maintains diplomatic relations. It is anticipated that over 500 foreign dignitaries will attend Queen Elizabeth’s burial in London.
The event is expected to be one of the largest diplomatic gatherings held in Britain in recent years, and it has already received confirmation of attendance from a number of prominent world leaders, including the Vice President and First Lady of the United States, Joe and Jill Biden, as well as the Prime Ministers of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
