The protesters started fire at Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s home on Saturday.
Just hours after tens of thousands of people invaded President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s official residence in Sri Lanka‘s capital, his private home in Colombo is currently under siege and on fire.
An official from the office of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told the media that protesters had entered into his private property and set it on fire.
The PM’s location at the time it was set ablaze is still unknown.
The private residence known as Fifth Lane is where Wickremesinghe resides with his family. He solely conducts business in his official mansion, Temple Trees.
Earlier, in response to widespread public outrage over an unprecedented economic crisis that had brought Sri Lanka to its knees, Wickremesinghe offered to step down and establish an all-party government.
