Pet owners will also benefit from added clarity in insurance terms thanks to SB 1217, which obliges insurers to specify any coverage exclusions upfront. They must note pre-existing conditions, hereditary issues, chronic illnesses, and other exclusions, giving consumers full transparency when purchasing pet insurance.
In nightlife venues, AB 2375 aims to curb drink spiking—a serious public safety concern—by requiring bars and clubs with type 48 licenses to offer drink lids to patrons upon request. At these same establishments, signage must be displayed to inform customers that lids and test kits are available, helping to raise awareness and prevent tampering incidents.
Beyond these five laws, California cities in the Bay Area are also set to implement additional local minimum wage increases in early July, reinforcing wage growth for workers.
