A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer plane crashed in the country’s northwest on Tuesday, killing the two pilots on board, according to a spokesman for the air force.
“A trainer aircraft crashed near Peshawar during a normal training mission,” the air force stated in a statement. On the ground, there was no loss of life or property.
The Air Headquarters has ordered a board of investigation to determine the reason of the incident, according to the statement.
In recent years, Pakistan’s military services have had multiple flying accidents. Another training event in November 2015 resulted in the death of a female jet pilot.
A military helicopter carrying diplomats to evaluate a tourism project crashed in May 2015, killing seven people, including the Norwegian and Philippine ambassadors.
In August 2015, a military helicopter serving as an air ambulance crashed near Mansehra’s northern area, killing 12 people.
