The Space Force recently published the Guardian Spirit manual. Its purpose is to instruct Guardians on putting the four core Guardian ideals of character, connection, commitment, and courage into practice daily.
This document operationalizes how members of the Space Force can uphold the second line of endeavour that the service is making, which is to “Amplify the Guardian Spirit.”
The Guardian Spirit is divided into four chapters, one for each fundamental value. Each has an explanation, a definition, and background information on the matter. In addition, it emphasises the “I will” declarations that Team Members and Leaders are required to make as part of the Guardian Commitment. These statements are individualized and action-oriented representations of the Guardian’s ideals.
The purpose of this handbook is to lay the groundwork for Guardians to advance the five aspirational goals outlined in the Guardian Ideal, the foundational talent management document for the Space Force. These goals are to Connect in a Collaborative Environment, Lead Digital Enablement, Generate and Engage Talent, Develop and Employ Talent, and Integrate Resiliency.
