The new Safe Transition Plan will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, following a review of Western Australia’s border restrictions based on the most recent health advice.
In the meantime, pending the latest health advice, the border opening will allow safe travel into WA from interstate and overseas, with vaccination and testing requirements upon arrival.
Interstate travel into WA
- Have a valid G2G Pass.
- If you’re eligible, get a triple dose vaccine.
- Perform a Rapid Antigen Test within 12 hours of arrival and report any positive results.
International travel into WA
- To enter Australia, you must meet Commonwealth Government standards (external link).
- If eligible, be completely vaccinated in accordance with Commonwealth Government guidelines.
- Have a valid G2G Pass.
- Perform a Rapid Antigen Test within 12 hours of arrival and report any positive results.
- Returning Australians who have not been vaccinated will be asked to complete a hotel quarantine period.
The testing arrangements are temporary and will be in place for at least two weeks before being reviewed again. To meet these interim testing criteria, all newcomers will be given one Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival.
