Elon Musk tweeted on Thursday that he will next acquire Coca-Cola and put the cocaine back in it, causing a social media frenzy in the same way that Coca-Cola began trending on Twitter. The tweet received 1 million likes, 200K retweets, and 60K quote tweets in less than two hours.
Musk’s statement comes after he paid $44 billion for a 100% share in Twitter. While the tweet appears to be a prank, social media users are skeptical, considering Musk had previously casually posted what the price of Twitter will be in 2017. And now, five years later, he has proposed purchasing the entire company.
Musk is not allowed to say anything negative about Twitter, according to his Twitter agreement. The rest is permissible, and as a result, the world’s richest man is talking about a variety of topics, including what Twitter should be like.
Twitter, in his opinion, should promote free speech as permitted by law; it should also be ideologically neutral, meaning it should be equally disturbing to both the far right and the far left. Elon Musk wants end-to-end encryption in Twitter DMs, similar to Signal, so that no one can spy or hack personal chats.
Returning to Coca-Cola, Musk made it plain that if he acquires the Atlanta firm, it will be for the beverage’s original recipe, which included cocaine.
“However, with a market capitalization of $284 billion, the soft drinks company dwarfs Twitter. Musk’s net worth is currently $253 billion, much exceeding that of his nearest competitor, Jeff Bezos, who is worth $162 billion”, media added his two cents.
