Its latest workforce reduction follows an earlier round of job cuts in 2022, when Netflix eliminated around 450 positions after experiencing a decline in subscribers for the first time in more than a decade.
The current restructuring also comes amid broader changes in the entertainment business, where companies are increasingly prioritising operational efficiency and carefully evaluating investments. Netflix’s experience suggests that maintaining market leadership does not necessarily protect even major companies from pressure to reduce expenditure when established growth models become less effective.
