According to media reports on Monday citing anonymous persons acquainted with the situation, the Canadian government will announce the termination of Covid-19 vaccination regulations for domestic travel on aircraft and trains, as well as departing overseas travel, on Tuesday.
The government, which has been chastised for its ongoing pandemic restrictions, may reinstate the vaccination requirement if a new strain of the virus is identified, according to the newspaper.
Bans on unvaccinated persons flying on airlines and vaccination requirements for federal government personnel are among Canada’s federal Covid restrictions.
Last week, the government banned random Covid testing at all of its airports for the remainder of June in order to reduce high wait times for passengers.
