The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is facing a rapidly worsening Ebola crisis, with suspected infections crossing 900 cases as health workers struggle against not only a deadly virus but also violence, public mistrust and growing shortages of medical resources. Aid organisations are attempting to scale up support despite security concerns. International groups are preparing additional treatment centres and expanding emergency operations, though workers say rebuilding trust with local communities may prove as important as medical intervention itself. Experts argue that without community cooperation, even aggressive containment measures may struggle to stop the virus.
